Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs & ASD) Location: Cheltenham and surrounding areas Salary: £90 – £110, depending on experience Start Date: ASAP About the Role: We are looking for a nurturing and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work in one of our amazing schools in the Milton Keynes area, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning needs. This role requires a calm, patient, and proactive individual who is passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, build communication and social skills, and develop greater independence. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 or small group basis throughout the school day. Assist in the implementation of individualised learning programmes, EHCP targets, and communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC). Promote emotional regulation, sensory integration, and behaviour support in line with individual care plans. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and progress. Contribute to the creation of a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Help with personal care and mobility needs when required, following training and guidance. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience working with children with ASD, sensory processing differences, or complex needs. A calm, consistent, and positive approach to behaviour and communication. Strong observational and communication skills. The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience with visual supports, sensory regulation strategies, or augmentative communication (desirable).
