Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and service‑focused IT Technician to join the Technology team at Fairmont St Andrews. In this role, you will support the smooth and reliable operation of all hotel IT systems, providing both proactive maintenance and responsive technical assistance to colleagues across the property.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the onboarding and setup of new colleagues.
* Install, configure, and maintain IT systems in line with established standards and under the guidance of the IT Manager.
* Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring clear communication with users throughout.
* Carry out routine checks on hardware, software, and system performance.
* Support periodic audits of IT equipment and assets.
* Assist with the configuration and maintenance of the IP phone system (queues, ring orders, etc.).
* Perform proactive maintenance of printers and manage consumables.
* Maintain an accurate inventory of all hotel AV equipment.
* Conduct regular testing and preventative maintenance of AV systems.
* Set up, operate, and support AV equipment for meetings and events.
* Work closely with the Events Operations team and external partners to ensure seamless AV delivery.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office products.
* Ability to troubleshoot ie. investigate and resolve issues.
* Experience in Microsoft Windows server operating systems.
* Experience in IT Support - both software and hardware.
* Understanding of networking principles.
* Experience with AV equipment.
The ideal candidate will have or be working towards gaining IT based qualifications with a keen interest in IT (and technology generally).
