Job Description
This role is part of the National Portfolio Management Office in the Portfolio Allocation & Development team and supports delivery of the Flood Investment Programme in Flood and Coastal Risk Management.
Responsibilities
* Analyse portfolio data from a wide variety of sources and systems to understand future funding needs.
* Develop engaging and informative charts and visuals that are audience-appropriate and follow data visualisation best practice.
* Present insights and evidence to enable informed decision making.
* Engage and collaborate with local teams across the business to ensure data is well‑managed.
* Contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation, and development of the team’s capabilities.
* Help ensure programmes are well managed and support activity to improve outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proficiency in manipulating, analysing, and presenting data using a range of tools such as Microsoft Excel and other desktop packages.
* Strong analytical skills, initiative, time management, prioritisation, relationship building, and project management skills.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook.
* Familiarity with SharePoint, document management systems, or other digital collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, Content Cloud).
* Ability to accurately analyse and interpret information.
* Appreciation for the importance of data quality and data management.
* Excellent IT skills and an interest in using IT to make work more efficient.
