Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant with previous experience within sandwich bars preferable. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a strong background in catering and food service. This role is essential in ensuring that our service runs smoothly. As a Catering Assistant, you will be involved in various aspects of food preparation, serving, and maintaining high standards of food safety.
Duties
* Assist with the preparation and presentation of food items for events, ensuring quality and adherence to food safety standards.
* Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner, providing an excellent dining experience.
* Collaborate with the catering team to set up and dismantle event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, and serving stations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and serving areas throughout events.
* Support the team with inventory management, including tracking supplies and reporting any shortages.
* Provide assistance during events by responding promptly to guest requests and ensuring their needs are met.
* Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety in accordance with health regulations.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices.
* Experience in serving food in a fast-paced environment, ideally within restaurants or catering settings.
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly disposition towards customers.
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
* A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service with attention to detail.
* Basic requirement Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate for Retail Level II
