Role Summary
Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking an experienced and adaptable Interim Operational Manager Housing to provide vital operational and strategic support within the Housing & Assets team. This role will focus on the daily management of housing repair services, Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) operations, and external contracts, while supporting two lead officers in delivering transformational projects across the service.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the Council’s DLO and external housing repair contracts.
* Provide operational oversight to ensure contract holders receive high-quality, timely services.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams to monitor performance, review service delivery, and streamline processes.
* Support specialist projects, including compliance with Awabbs Law and other statutory requirements.
* Assist the Repairs & Services Lead and the Voids & Decarbonisation Lead with operational support, freeing capacity for strategic and transformational activities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant professional qualification in Housing, Construction, or Property Management (desirable).
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Proven experience in housing operations, repairs, or contract management.
* Experience managing or supervising DLO operations or external contractors.
* Track record of contributing to service improvement and organisational change.
* Experience in compliance, statutory housing requirements, and health & safety standards.
* Experience of collaborative working with internal and external partners.
