Job Title: Principal Quality Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness and UK-wide travel to supplier sites. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £42,215+ depending on skills & experience
What you’ll be doing:
Working collaboratively across the SSNA programme to support progressing improvements and streamlining processes using the APQP tools and techniques
Supporting meetings to embed APQP, PPAP and FAIR processes into the SSNA programme
Presenting APQP tools and techniques in training and coaching sessions across the business
Aiding in developing, maintaining and managing key collaborative relationships, both internally and externally
Leading and supporting LfE Quality Lessons Learnt forums and supporting senior leaders
Your skills and experience:
APQP, PPAP or FAIR experience, preferably in a Manufacturing or Engineering environment
Project Management experience
Presentation skills and experience
Manufacturing / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Quality Management experience or Equivalent
Valid UK Driver’s License (travel within the UK required for this position)

The Supplier Improvement Team:
This is an interesting and varied role offering regular travel across the UK to supplier sites and excellent exposure across the wider business. You’ll play a key part in driving meaningful, business-wide change, supporting a new approach that has not previously been used within the Submarine function. With strong direction from the Quality Director, this role is central to shaping and improving how the business operates. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
