A specialist SEN school in Uxbridge is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
* Plan and deliver highly differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SLD
* Support students’ academic development, communication, and independence
* Use multi-sensory and structured teaching approaches
* Implement and review EHCP targets, tracking progress effectively
* Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff
* Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
* Contribute to assessments, reports, and annual reviews
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* Experience working with pupils with SLD or complex SEN needs
* Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies
* Ability to manage behaviour and support emotional regulation
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
* Experience with PMLD, Autism, or communication needs
* Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or AAC systems
* Experience working in a specialist SEN setting
