Service Manager SWNS Division
The Women's Health Leadership Team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Service Manager to join the team.

This role involves providing leadership and operational management for Maternity and Neonatal services. You will support the smooth running of NICU, Obstetric and Gynaecology services by overseeing daily activity, income, administrative functions and processes, working with the multidisciplinary team to meet NHS care targets. The role requires proactive, highly motivated, deadline‑oriented staff with strong attention to detail.
You will ensure safe and effective care through effective line management and teamwork, maintaining efficient administrative processes and information flow. Building strong working relationships across staff groups is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required qualifications include a working knowledge of Microsoft programs, experience in a clinical setting, data collation and reporting, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to lead change, bring structure to discussions and processes is central. Experience with budgets, NHS activity and finance processes is advantageous.

Main duties of the job
* Establish a high level of understanding of Gynaecology & Fertility services and teams to enable cross‑cover of key points within the Women's Health portfolio.
* Work with the divisional management team, Associate Medical Director, Operations Director, Head of Nursing/Head of Midwifery, Clinical Leads and Heads of Service to ensure the achievement of performance and other local and national clinical and non‑clinical targets.
* Work with the divisional management team within specific clinical areas and in partnership with operational managers and clinicians to ensure the effective provision of consistent quality services.
* Provide first‑line operational management to support theatre activity, outpatient and administrative departments and supervise systems and processes.
* In liaison with Lead Consultants, Head of Nursing/Head of Midwifery ensure appropriate systems and processes are established to support robust reporting and governance, risk and safeguarding issues.
* Manage designated financial resources within budget and support the Operations Director/Head of Nursing/Head of Midwifery and Medical Leads in financial management within the directorate.

* Degree level or demonstrable ability to work at degree level.

Experience
* Substantive management experience within a healthcare or related environment.
* Preparing and presenting updates on area of responsibility; collating and analysing data reports.
* Team leader & induction of new staff.
* Managing healthcare performance KPIs, such as RTT 18 weeks.
