Overview
The NCA are delighted to offer opportunities for Newly Qualified Midwives to join our friendly and supportive Maternity Team. We offer an excellent preceptorship programmes which encompasses the full sphere of midwifery practice, including integrated MLC preceptorships with spoke days in inpatient services and preceptorships which include antenatal ward, labour ward, maternity triage and postnatal ward.
Eligibility and Interviews
Applications are open to student Midwives / Newly Qualified Midwives who will have gained entry to the NMC register and will be eligible to commence in post (following successful interview and pre-employment checks) on 13 October 2025. Interviews will be held on 18 September 2025.
Responsibilities
The newly qualified midwife is responsible for the assessment, implementation and evaluation of clinical care for women, birthing people and babies on the maternity unit. You will work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team ensuring effective care is planned and delivered. You will undertake relevant further study as required for the post and complete preceptorship. You will provide support and supervision to less experienced practitioners, midwives, nurses and students to the trust standards and competencies and to support colleagues in a multi-disciplinary team.

Eligibility Notes
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. An NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role. The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as OSCEs are paused indefinitely.
