Following the internal development of one of our colleagues we are a recruiting for 12 months fixed term Pensions Payroll Officer role.
As a Pensions Payroll officer, you will work with the team responsible for processing daily and monthly Pensions payrolls while working closely with the member services and finance teams managers to make sure that pension payments are timely, accurate and replicated in the financial systems and reported to HMRC.
The Pensions Payroll team ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of all pension payments administered by Peninsula Pensions.
The Pensions Payroll team are responsible for processing daily and monthly pension payrolls, annual pension increases calculations, submission of information to HMRC, dealing with member queries as well as general administration of pensioner records
As a Pensions Payroll Officer you will process and reconcile daily pension payrolls for the pensioner lump sum payments and support pensions payroll team manager with monthly payrolls for pension schemes. You will also be required to check the colleagues work for accuracy, develop staff and answer pensioner queries. For this you will need excellent inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to explain complex payroll and taxation queries to less experienced colleagues and pensioners. You will also require knowledge of the relevant legislation of PAYE and Pensions Tax Manual.
You will also provide support on ad hoc projects undertaken within the team.

8. 23 days annual leave rising to 28 after 5 years’ service and then increasing in increments to a maximum of 31 days at 20 years’ service. On top of this, colleagues will be given the 3-day period between Christmas and New year as paid time off as well as bank holidays.
