Job title: Civil Structural Designer
Location: Warrington -- Hybrid
Job type: Permanent and Contract (Inside IR35)
Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a Civil Structural Designer for a permanent and contract position in Warrington. This role is within the Oil & Gas, Construction, or highly regulated industries.
We have both contract and staff positions available.
Role
As a Civil Structural Designer, you will carry out all design activities, participate in internal and external design reviews, and support the Project Design Lead & Lead Civil and Structural Engineer.
You may be responsible for one project or a portfolio of projects, depending on size and complexity. You will interpret general arrangement drawings and scopes of work, developing them into engineering designs.
You will identify changes to the design scope and report them to the Project Design Lead & Lead Engineer. You will ensure quality in all engineering designs, including checking discipline design deliverables according to company procedures.
Experience
If you meet the following criteria, we look forward to hearing from you:
* Over 5 years of experience as a Civil and Structural designer in single-discipline and multi-discipline projects within an engineering/EPCM/EPC company in relevant sectors.
* Deep knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Advance Steel, or similar software, capable of carrying out designs independently.
* Strong understanding of Civil and Structural engineering and design, as well as other disciplines (EC&I, Mechanical, Piping, and Process).
* HNC / HND in Civil / Structural Engineering (preferred).
* Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician qualification (preferred).
* Ability to produce and develop design deliverables including 3D models, GA drawings, steel detailing, reinforced concrete detailing, and schedules.
* Experience with temporary works designs (preferred).
* Ability to assist in site surveys of existing assets and produce site survey reports.
* Experience with laser scanning and creating detailed models from scans (preferred).
* Good understanding of British / European Standards, Eurocodes, and EN1090, etc.
