The opportunity
Based in our York office, we are looking to recruit an experienced individual in ABAS to work within a new team formed in January 2024. In your position as Assistant, you will support the team with the development and operation of a new service (within ABAS) – 'Accounting for Audits'. The focus of this team will be to deliver the statutory accounts on behalf of the firm's existing audit client base, focusing on the more complex audited accounts for companies and groups, including consolidations. Once fully established, we will look to market the service to external firms to provide accountancy services to audit firms where they are restricted to undertake such services.
Day to day duties:
* Preparation of more complex statutory accounts for both our internal audit client base and also for 3rd parties and external auditors
* Preparation of group consolidated accounts (with full training given)
* Preparation and management of bespoke information requests using Inflo
* Provide advice on best practice and accounting recommendations to both clients and audit teams
* Work both autonomously and as part of a team
* Be able to manage conflicting clients and deadlines in order to prioritise deadlines for our internal audit teams
* Offer support to the team with the growth and establishment of the service offering
What are we looking for?
This role would be suited to a part-qualified candidate with experience working as part of an Accounts & Business Advisory position dealing with complex accounts or an Audit Associate looking to transition across to an accounts role. You will have the opportunity to progress in your career and will work alongside a highly supportive and friendly team whilst working on a varied client base.
Actively studying towards ACA/ACCA with 1.5-2 years' experience in a practice environment
