Contracts Manager
Newcastle (National Travel Required)
£75,000 to £85,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Executive Benefits
We are working with a nationally recognised engineering contractor specialising in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installations across complex, high-value projects. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a commercially astute and experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple M&E contracts and ensure consistent delivery, compliance, and profitability.
The Role
As a Contracts Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful execution of multiple M&E contracts across a variety of sectors. You'll be a key decision-maker in the business, overseeing project performance, managing commercial risk, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting project teams through every phase of delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of M&E contracts across various sectors and regions
Oversee contract negotiation, procurement, and execution
Monitor commercial performance, profitability, and cash flow
Ensure all works comply with contractual, legal, and H&S obligations
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Support and mentor project delivery teams across all stages of the project lifecycle
Work with estimating, design, and delivery teams to ensure project feasibility and risk management
Attend high-level project and commercial review meetings
Report directly to senior leadership on contractual and commercial performance
The Candidate
We're looking for a highly competent and experienced Contracts Manager with a proven track record in M&E project delivery and contract administration at a senior level.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or senior project/commercial role within M&E or construction
Strong understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and commercial frameworks
Excellent commercial and contractual acumen
HNC, Degree, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
High-level reporting, communication, and negotiation skills
Willingness to travel nationally as required
