Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated individuals to join our team as a Senior Pharmacist, Clinical Services and Medicines Optimisation. This role will enhance your clinical expertise while honing your management skills.

As one of South West London's largest teaching hospitals, you will work in an acute trust with diverse medical conditions, as well as in the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre and the paediatric hospital at St Helier.

Main duties

Assist the Lead Pharmacist, Formulary and Medicines Optimisation in developing the SouthWest London joint formulary and guidelines, implementing national and local guidelines related to medicines, and delivering high quality pharmaceutical services in line with professional standards.

Provide comprehensive and efficient pharmaceutical service to patients, Pharmacy Department and Integrated Care Boards (ICB). Participate in seven‑day working and on‑call rotas.

Person specification

Qualifications

• Certificate in clinical pharmacy (at least 12 months complete and working towards 18 months)
• Membership of Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
• Full Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
• Management training

Experience

• Post registration UK hospital experience (minimum 18 months)
• Experience providing services to a broad variety of patients
• Demonstrated good clinical knowledge and skills
• Experience in medicines management / optimisation
• Staff management and staff appraisal
• Knowledge of CMM (formerly JAC) pharmacy computer system

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good organisational skills, self and others
• Ability to motivate self and others
• Clinical governance and risk management
• Ability to implement and manage change
• Experience contributing to or leading trust guideline, policy and procedure development

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
