We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on PMO role with a passion for supporting the delivery of change, whilst keeping things lean and fast paced. You will be aligned to a strategic Programme and undertake activities such as reporting, information management, financial tracking, risk/issue management, change control and maintaining governance standards. Your main focus however will be on quality and assurance during all aspects of delivery.
You will be supporting at least one programme within the Data & Technology Group, there will be opportunity to help us shape and grow the PMO function. You will be encouraged to identify opportunities to reduce governance overheads whilst ensuring the Programmes/ Projects still meet their minimum requirements.
Main Duties
* Play the role of critical friend to your delivery stakeholders.
* Work with a Programme to implement a Quality Assurance strategy.
* Define and support governance.
* Provide assurance with the project framework standards.
* Identify and analyse key gaps relating to quality and drive improvement activities to close gaps.
* Produce and track project timelines, schedules, resources, and financials.
* Communicate, manage, and escalate Milestone Plans, Risks, Issues, Dependencies, and Actions (RAID).
* Support identification and tracking of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) or key metrics agreed by Leadership for the Programme.
* Facilitate key Programme checkpoints and meetings.
* Support any PMO interactions with the wider business.
* Provide quality information on Programme progress to the Portfolio Office.
* Drive transparency, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset with the PMO and Programme.
* Act as the SME for PMO, ensuring communications are distributed within your stakeholder network for the Programme.
What We’re Looking For
* Solid experience in a hands-on Programme support role within a key strategic programme.
* Strong background in both waterfall and agile practices and ways of working.
* Enthusiasm for stakeholder support and quality assurance.
* Experience in project resource planning and reporting, RAID management, and comprehensive quality checks.
* Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Comfortable assessing others’ work and delivering feedback in a supportive and productive manner.
* Ability to identify and analyse quality concerns, suggesting solutions and improvement measures.
* Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite, and PowerBI.
* Passion for quality and continuous improvement.
* Innovative mindset with ideas to evolve and enhance team practices and ways of working.
