Looking to develop in your career?
Are you passionate about supporting people with a learning disability? Would you like to make a difference in people's lives and support them to live a meaningful life in the community?
This post is funded as full-time; however, we would consider a minimum of 30 hours per week.
We are seeking a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to join our well-established Intensive Support Team for adults with a learning disability. You will join existing psychologists in a team that values strong, true multidisciplinary working.
Our aim is to support individuals to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, enabling them to remain at home in the community with an improved quality of life. We also assist with discharge transitions out of hospital. Our team collaborates with individuals, their families, and carers to understand their needs, working closely with local community learning disability teams and social care for a cohesive approach.
Alongside our psychological services colleagues, you will provide specialist assessments, psychological interventions, team formulation, consultation, training, and supervision of staff.
Successful applicants will receive excellent support, regular supervision, and opportunities for professional development. We have established links with Coventry and Warwick Doctoral Training courses in Clinical Psychology, offering placements, teaching, and supervision of doctoral research. We are also developing research collaborations with Warwick University, providing opportunities to maintain and develop research skills.
In this role, the successful candidate will be appointed to a "Development Post" at band 7, with opportunities and support to progress to band 8a after successful completion of a preceptorship program, typically within two years. This process will be discussed during the interview. Applications from newly qualified or soon-to-qualify clinicians are encouraged.
Flexible working arrangements are available upon discussion with the operational manager.
