About Us
Welcome to The Black Diamond — Northampton's most distinctive art-deco inspired Tea Room and Events Venue, located within The Vintage Retreat, the largest vintage and retro shopping destination in Northampton.
By day, our elegant Tea Room serves artisan coffee, cakes and freshly prepared food to visitors exploring over 100 independent traders inside the Vintage Retreat.
By night, the space transforms into a dazzling events venue hosting everything from burlesque and themed cabaret nights to private parties, weddings and live entertainment, with a capacity of up to 500 guests.
We're proudly independent, full of personality, and growing fast — now seeking a talented, hands-on Manager to help us elevate our service and guest experience even further.
The Role
You'll oversee all front-of-house operations across both our Tea Room and Kitchen — leading the team, ensuring exceptional service, and keeping everything running smoothly across busy daytime trade and lively evening events.
Key responsibilities include:
* Oversee daily Tea Room and barista service
* Lead by example on the floor — greeting guests and driving service excellence
* Recruit, train and motivate the FOH team
* Manage rotas, stock control and ordering
* Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen to coordinate service
* Maintain hygiene, food safety and health & safety compliance
* Contribute creative ideas for menus, promotions and events with the owner
What We're Looking For
* Experience as a Supervisor, Assistant Manager or FOH Manager in hospitality
* Confident, positive team leader with strong communication skills
* Passion for service, presentation and creating memorable experiences
* Organised, reliable and calm under pressure
* Good understanding of food and drink service and coordination with the kitchen
* Flexible for daytime, evening and weekend shifts (especially for events)
* Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
