We’re working with a well-established engineering and fabrication business based in Leicestershire that delivers large-scale structural projects across the UK.
They have an exciting – and rare opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to play a key role in maintaining and improving safety standards across both their manufacturing facility and live project sites.
This is a varied position where you’ll spend time working closely with teams on the shop floor, ensuring safe systems of work are understood and followed, while also visiting sites to review procedures, carry out audits, and support project teams in maintaining high safety standards.
The business is involved in some genuinely exciting large-scale projects, making this an opportunity to work across both manufacturing and construction environments.
The role
This position is split between supporting the factory environment and visiting project sites to ensure safety procedures are implemented and maintained.
Within the manufacturing facility, you’ll work closely with production teams to develop and maintain clear, practical safety procedures. A key part of the role is ensuring that risk assessments and safe systems of work are understood and embedded into day-to-day operations.
You’ll also carry out regular site visits, supporting project teams by reviewing safety processes, conducting audits, and identifying opportunities to strengthen procedures and reduce risk.
Typical responsibilities will include:
* Developing, reviewing and maintaining risk assessments and safe systems of work
* Working closely with shop floor teams to ensure procedures are understood and followed
* Supporting operational teams in maintaining safe working practices in a busy manufacturing environment
* Visiting project sites to carry out safety audits, inspections and procedural reviews
* Identifying potential risks and implementing practical improvements
* Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture across the business
* Supporting project and operational teams with safety planning and compliance
About you
This role requires someone who can work closely with operational teams while maintaining clear safety standards.
You’ll need to be confident building relationships with teams on the ground, while also having the resilience to challenge and push back when required to ensure standards are maintained.
You’ll bring:
* Experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, engineering or manufacturing
* Exposure to both site environments and manufacturing facilities would be highly beneficial
* A NEBOSH qualification at Level 3 or above
* Strong knowledge of risk assessments, safe systems of work and safety procedures
* The ability to influence behaviours and support teams in improving safety standards
* A practical, resilient approach to maintaining compliance in busy operational environments
