Role Overview: We’re looking for a motivated Assistant Shop Manager to support our trading team. You will act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, helping to maximize income through people, resources, and stock, while supporting the shop manager and team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and inspire a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers.
* Assist in the commercial operations of the store, including display, merchandising, stock management, and maintaining shop standards.
* Lead by example, providing excellent customer and supporter service.
* Work towards targets related to donated stock, cash, gift aid, sales, and stock processing.
* Build relationships with the local community and colleagues.
* Support the organization and delivery of fundraising events.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, and HR policies.
* Deputize for the shop manager when needed.
* Perform manual handling and physical activities as required.
Candidate Requirements:
* Knowledge of excellent customer service.
* Experience in lively, vibrant environments.
* Adaptability and ability to work independently.
* Commercial awareness.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Flexibility to work on a rota basis, considering work-life balance.
