We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support our pupils in accessing a broad, meaningful, and engaging curriculum tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils under the direction of the class teacher and therapists.
* Support pupils with personal care needs, feeding, mobility, and use of assistive technologies.
* Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a positive and therapeutic manner.
* Promote independence, communication, and life skills through tailored interventions and routines.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, families, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to learning and development.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and reviews as needed.
Essential
About You
* A genuine passion for working with children with complex SEN.
* Patience, empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of humour.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to follow direction while also using initiative.
* A willingness to learn and take part in ongoing CPD and training (e.g., Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, Moving & Handling).
Desirable
* Previous experience working in an SEN environment.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate, or equivalent).
* Knowledge of autism, sensory integration, or therapeutic approaches.
