Overview
We're entering an exciting new phase of growth - and we're looking for a highly skilled, compliance-driven Certification Engineer to help us deliver the next generation of business class aircraft seating. In this pivotal role as our Certification Engineer, you'll lead certification activities from concept to delivery, ensuring our designs meet the rigorous standards of EASA, FAA, and CAA authorities. Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate certification programs across our business class seating projects.
* Develop, review, and approve key certification documentation, including Certification Plans, Compliance Matrices, Test Plans, and Substantiation Reports.
* Collaborate with regulatory authorities (EASA, FAA, TCCA) and our internal DOA teams to achieve seamless certification.
* Support Design and Stress teams in developing compliant, airworthy solutions.
* Manage the certification schedule, ensuring on-time delivery to program milestones.
* Interpret and apply airworthiness regulations (CS-25, 14 CFR Part 25) to design and test activities.
* Engage with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to define robust certification strategies.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your technical insight and regulatory expertise.
* Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with significant experience in aerospace certification engineering.
* In-depth understanding of EASA Part 21J and FAA Part 25 certification processes.
* Proven track record in developing certification documentation and managing compliance.
* Experience in aircraft interiors or seating systems (structure, HIC, flammability, crashworthiness, etc.).
* Strong grasp of CS-25, ACs/AMCs, TSOs, and ETSO requirements.
* A collaborative team driven approach with strong organisational and project management skills.
Nice-to-Haves
* Experience working within a DOA/ADAO environment.
* Exposure to OEM or Tier 1 supplier programs.
* Understanding of FST and crashworthiness testing.
* Knowledge of composite and metallic structure certification.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent registration.
