Overview
We are currently seeking to appoint an organised and knowledgeable Health and Social Care Assessor to join our Service Industries department. This is a part‑time position working 3 days a week during term time only. The role involves visiting learners to assess them in the workplace and onsite at the College on BTEC Level 2 & 3 and T‑Level specifications. The post holder will hold a specific caseload of work with key responsibility for managing and maximising the student learning journey.
Responsibilities
* Managing communication with employers, work‑based students and apprentices through to the relevant End Point Assessment and ensuring all records comply with the required standard.
* Carrying out the relevant administration for all work‑based students and apprentices, maintaining accurate reports and documentation.
* Monitoring and tracking student progress.
* Timely completion of key apprenticeship sign‑up documents to the appropriate standard.
* Completing reviews regularly and according to guidance, and ensuring these are recorded appropriately.
* Liaising with lecturing staff on all students’ work‑based learning progress and target setting.
* Carrying out placement observations to the BTEC specification requirement.
* Assessing practical demonstration of skills in the workplace (where applicable).
Qualifications
* Work experience in a related role.
* An assessment qualification.
* Previous assessment experience (ideally within FE).
* Previous experience teaching or tutoring health and social care in the FE sector.
* A childcare, health and social care qualification at a minimum of Level 3 (a degree would be strongly preferred).
* Minimum Maths and English GCSE or Level 2 equivalent.
* Enhanced DBS check and reference verification.
* Proof of all qualifications and awards before commencement of employment.
* Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship of work permits).
