Commercial Excellence Manager – United Kingdom
Reports to: Commercial Director – Infrastructure Products Europe
Role Overview
The Commercial Excellence Manager will promote continuous improvement and transformation across commercial operations, ensuring that commercial strategies align with business goals. Using data analytics, the role builds strong stakeholder relationships and fosters a culture of innovation and excellence to support effective strategy execution.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute commercial strategies that align with overall business objectives.
* Identify and segment target markets based on customer profiles, needs, and behaviours.
* Manage process change, data integrity, reporting and education of team members.
* Lead the ComEx team on commercial projects, pricing, customer segmentation, and sales management.
* Encourage use of innovative tools, digital technologies and methodologies to improve commercial outcomes.
* Use advanced data analysis and reporting to evaluate activities, trends and customer feedback, offering actionable insights for continuous improvement.
* Establish and optimise pricing models that align with market demand and company financial goals.
* Assist in the tender process from pre‑qualification to final bid submission, award and engagement closeout.
* Maintain regular contact with the systems team to ensure accurate data provision.
* Explore new databases and data systems to enable best‑in‑class ComEx across Infrastructure Products Europe.
* Report monthly on customer and product sales and margin, focusing on improvements.
* Train and develop the ComEx team to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
* Develop initiatives across departments to drive optimal margin and processes.
* Collate and deliver accurate data to stakeholders across Infrastructure Products Europe.
* Lead and mentor cross‑functional teams, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
* Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them aligned with business goals and objectives.
* Perform any other duties as directed by the Commercial Director.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field.
* Five years of experience in commercial roles with a strong background in sales, marketing or business development.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise and analyse large volumes of information accurately.
* Technical expertise in data models, database design, data mining and segmentation techniques.
* Experience developing people and a solid understanding of project management.
* Ability to influence and drive change across multiple teams.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively and report to senior management.
* Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex commercial challenges.
* Strong knowledge of business processes, financials and budgeting.
