Description
* Preparing monthly management accounts.
* Reporting monthly accounts to the board.
* Work closely with the commercial team to allocate project costing, update and report monthly.
* Work closely with other departments using centralised financial data.
* Create scenarios, forecasts and models to help management make informed business decisions.
* Update weekly and monthly cash flows.
* Act as a key finance member while also working closely with the MD & other departments.
* Maintain a commercially astute outlook whilst supporting the finance function.
* Excellent time management to meet strict monthly reporting deadlines.
* Excellent people skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the whole business and finance team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
* Serve as a crucial link between finance and all other departments to present and report accurate information so the business can make informed decisions.
* Ensure weekly and monthly reporting deadlines are met.
* Provide guidance to management and give constructive feedback from a financial perspective.
Profile
A successful Commercial Accountant should have:
* A recognised accounting qualification or equivalent education in accounting and finance.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
