This is an excellent opportunity to step into a broad, hands-on privacy role where you will have real influence across a large, fast-moving commercial environment.
THE COMPANY
They are a major UK-based retail group with a large store network and a growing international presence. Operating multiple lifestyle, fashion and consumer brands, they work in a fast paced, performance driven environment where strong delivery is recognised.
THE ROLE
You will be the go-to advisor for privacy matters across the business, owning DSARs, incident handling and hands-on governance work while supporting product, marketing and commercial teams with practical, business-friendly guidance.
Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:
* Act as a primary point of contact for internal teams, offering clear and practical privacy advice.
* Manage and coordinate data subject rights requests through established processes.
* Support the investigation and documentation of lower-level data incidents and breaches.
* Maintain and update privacy governance documentation.
* Review and advise on data protection clauses within supplier and commercial contracts.
* Advise on privacy matters to IT, HR, marketing, customer service and wider business units.
* Contribute to privacy training and awareness activity across the organization.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Data Protection Advisor will have the following skills and experience:
* Strong commercial experience in data protection, privacy, governance or compliance.
* Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear, business friendly guidance.
* Confident managing DSARs, privacy risks and incident handling.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across teams
* Experience in retail, large scale commercial environments or regulated industries is beneficial.
