Leading the Domestic Team
* Supervising, motivating and supporting a team of domestic cleaners
* Managing rosters, work schedules and resource allocation
* Training, coaching and developing team members
* Monitoring performance, attendance and professional conduct
* Interviewing and welcoming new employees
Delivering a High Quality Cleaning Service
* Ensuring all areas meet the 2007 National Specifications for Cleanliness
* Monitoring standards using IT based auditing systems
* Responding quickly to ad hoc cleaning requests and emergencies
* Managing cleaning materials, consumables and equipment to minimise waste
* Ensuring compliance with Trust and Sodexo policies, including infection prevention and control
Customer Care & Communication
* Building strong relationships with ward managers, matrons and service users
* Communicating clearly, politely and professionally
* Demonstrating compassion, empathy and a positive attitude
* Protecting patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality
* Supporting a positive patient experience through visible, proactive service
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensuring safe systems of work, COSHH, fire safety and hygiene standards are met
* Reporting accidents, near misses and health & safety concerns
* Using PPE and equipment safely
* Completing required audits, documentation and training
* Encouraging team participation in mandatory training programmes
Essential Qualifications
* NEBSS Certificate / NVQ Level 2
* BICSc CPSS
* Food Hygiene qualification
* Health & Safety awareness
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a cleaning team
* Supervisory or management experience
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and professionally in changing situations
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Computer literacy
* Physically able to push cleaning trolleys and move light furniture
* Compassion, empathy and respect for others
Desirable
* Experience in a healthcare environment
* Experience in a customer facing role
* Institute of Environmental Health Officers Basic Food Hygiene certificate
