Job Description

3. Provide leadership and support to the accounts payable staff, demonstrating strong people management skills and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
4. Lead and contribute to project work, including process improvement initiatives and system implementations.
5. Bring fresh ideas to the table, challenging existing practices and driving innovation across the accounts payable function.
6. Oversee the accounts payable team, ensuring smooth daily operations.
7. Review and approve invoices for accuracy and compliance with policies.
8. Manage payment runs and ensure timely disbursement to suppliers.
9. Resolve discrepancies and disputes with vendors professionally.
10. Maintain accurate records and reports for internal and external audits.
11. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency in the accounts payable function.
12. Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

13. Previous experience managing accounts payable functions, ideally within the retail industry.
14. Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team effectively.
15. Proven experience in project work, including process improvement and system implementation.
16. A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
17. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
18. Proficiency in accounting software and related systems.
19. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
20. Strong communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders.
21. Confidence in bringing new ideas to the table and driving positive change.
