We’re Recruiting for a Driver Trainer
We are recruiting for a Driver Trainer at our Market Drayton Depot within the Muller Milk and Ingredients Distribution Business.
As a Driver Trainer your objective is to promote best practice in all aspects of logistics, training and driver development. This involves always maintaining the highest standards, whilst supporting our transport teams in achieving our logistics benchmarks.
We want to create a best in class, industry leading, safe and compliant standard toward driver training and licence acquisition within MMiD. Supporting this with structured comprehensive training, support and development.
• Contract – Full Time / Permanent
• Location - Market Drayton Depot TF9 3UY
Shift Patterns
1. 6 on – 2 off (start and finish times vary, overall 47.5 hours per week)
(Flexibility of the above for the right candidate of which can be discussed during interview)
Salary - £15.88 Per Hour plus premiums
2. Overtime paid at x1.125 basic rate
3. Saturday paid at x1.125 basic rate, Sunday paid at 1.5 basic rate
4. Additional 14.25% uplift of base rate for unsociable hours worked between 6PM – 4AM
5. Customary/Public Holidays paid at x1.5
Weekly Paid with planned transition to monthly pay over the course of 2025/2026
Driver Trainer Primary Focus
Support all areas of driver development and training including but not limited to;
6. DCPC Delivery
7. Fuel Efficient Driving
8. Driver Compliance
9. Post-accident fault rectification
10. Measure and target improvement against KPIs
Driver Trainer Key Skills & Experience
11. Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
12. An effective team member who works well on their own initiative
13. Demonstrates an excellent attitude to work
14. Self – motivated with a positive attitude and extremely reliable
15. HGV Class 1 Licence (LGV Cat C+E)
16. Current CPC and digital driving card
17. No more than 6 minor points on driving licence (No CDs, DDs, DRs or INs)
Driver Trainer Role & Responsibilities
18. Carry out pre-employment driver assessments for both Permanent and Agency drivers
19. Support MMID Health and Safety culture, including local safety campaigns
20. Working with the Lead Driver Trainer to support safety roadshows, local driver forums and national events
21. Promote and deliver driver development, to include Safe & Fuel-Efficient Driving aligned to A to G performance indicators (Connexus)
22. Support driver CPC periodic training requirements
23. Support internal LGV training opportunities
24. Deliver all aspects of new driver induction training and existing driver development training, including vehicle and trailer specific familiarisation and manual handling techniques – in accordance to site or operational requirements
25. Ensure compliance with company procedures and GDPR rules
26. Support Company SSoW processes and associated documentation relating to driver activities
27. Ensure drivers are familiar and proficient in operating existing and new equipment
28. Where directed – Train CIP techniques dependant on site requirements
29. Ensure that driver vocational licence entitlements are valid as part of pre-employment process, ensuring all vocational driver licences are valid
30. Maintain up to date and accurate data within the Tachomaster analysis compliance system
31. Support the Lead Driver Trainer, to complete & support EU & RTWTD infringement remedial action
32. Complete post-accident remedial training
33. Communicate effectively with, Compliance teams & Transport teams to determine best practice is achieved fully in all areas
