Overview

We’re on the lookout for a Junior National Account Manager to join our growing team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with National Account Executive (or similar) experience who’s ready to step up and take on greater responsibility in managing retail customers.

The role

You’ll work alongside our retail team but will also be given your own areas of responsibility across key customers. From owning parts of the day-to-day account management, to preparing and leading on elements of customer meetings, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping us deliver growth.

This isn’t just a support role — you’ll be trusted to manage accounts, build relationships, and make a real commercial impact while developing into a full National Account Manager.

Each day in this role will be varied — you’ll gain a deep understanding of The Jolly Hog business while also taking ownership of key areas across our retail and foodservice accounts. From analysing data and managing account admin, to preparing for and presenting at customer meetings, through to visiting stores and seeing our products on shelves, you’ll be involved in the full cycle of how our business operates.

With the business in a strong period of growth, this role offers real responsibility from the outset and the chance to develop quickly. You’ll be given the tools, support, and exposure needed to progress into a full National Account Manager role in the future.

Who are we?

Once upon a time, there were three brothers… A rugby player, a ship-broker and a cabinet-maker. After a heated debate about the perfect pork sausages, the brothers decided to settle the argument by creating their own porky delights.

Fast forward to 2025, we now have a range of higher welfare, Great taste award winning pork products in Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, Coop, Morrisons and Gousto, along with a restaurant called Pigsty on Bristol’s Wapping Wharf. We also run mobile catering at events up and down the country including Winter Wonderland, Goodwood, and Glastonbury, just to name a few.

In 2022, we achieved our B Corp accreditation which we are hugely proud of. This demonstrates our commitment to putting people and the planet above profit. All our team are involved in our Social & Environmental initiatives from day one. You can find out more about these on our website.

Key Responsibilities

* Take ownership of day-to-day management of retail customer portals, including promotion loading, product set-ups, and reviewing EPOS sales data to track performance
* Manage and update promotion plans, ensuring accuracy across internal teams and customers
* Lead competitor analysis on pricing and promotions, providing recommendations to strengthen our plans
* Oversee sample management, ensuring timely delivery and effective use for customer activations
* Prepare and deliver sections of customer presentations, contributing to meetings with insights and updates
* Support and execute brand activations at retailer events, including sampling and shopper engagement
* Build strong relationships with customer contacts, supporting joint business planning and day-to-day queries
* Carry out regular store visits, reporting back actionable insights to influence strategy and decision-making

Who are we looking for?

* Experience in the world of FMCG is a must - preferably in food or drink
* Experience as a National Account Executive (or similar)
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
* Proactive and enthusiastic to support the team with various different tasks
* Someone with a high level of ambition, who wants to grow and learn within a small, growing brand
* A person who can thrive under pressure, and be able to manage time effectively to be able to deliver quick turnaround tasks alongside longer term projects
