ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Plan effective, inclusive, and differentiated learning programs through schemes of work that promote equality and engage diversity.
2. Design teaching sessions based on module learning outcomes, utilizing various resources and digital learning techniques to accommodate individual student needs.
3. Ensure all learning materials are current and accessible on the VLE for student engagement.
4. Contribute to developing module content and layout on the VLE.
5. Apply learning principles to create activities that meet curriculum standards and student needs.
6. Select appropriate teaching methods and skill development activities to ensure student progress.
7. Create a stimulating learning environment while adhering to health, safety, and safeguarding procedures.
8. Implement assessment principles, including diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments.
9. Use diverse methods to monitor and record student learning and progress periodically.
10. Ensure interactive assessment activities are available across face-to-face, online, and VLE platforms.
11. Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student improvement and qualification achievement.
12. Prepare students for assessments such as exams, coursework, and practicals.
13. Prepare assessment materials, including marking, moderation, and recording results in platforms like Progresso and Trackers.
14. Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress.
15. Respond promptly to issues related to attendance, punctuality, behavior, and academic referrals.
16. Support students with target setting, action planning, and academic performance improvement.
17. Offer additional support through workshops, revision classes, and liaising with university staff.
18. Contribute to progress reports and aim for high student achievement standards.
19. Refer students to learning support services as needed and promote wellbeing.
20. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including parents, sponsors, and university partners.
21. Participate in quality assurance activities and professional development.
22. Maintain subject expertise and enthusiasm, updating knowledge regularly.
23. Collaborate with the team to develop engaging curricula and share best practices.
24. Be flexible to meet the department's needs, including covering absent colleagues and participating in events.
ABOUT YOU
1. A Cert Ed, PCET, or PGCE qualification (or willingness to achieve).
2. Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area; postgraduate qualification is desirable.
3. Experience teaching at levels 3 and 4; experience at level 6 is a plus.
4. Strong subject knowledge in Maths and Engineering, especially Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering, with a preference for Electrical/Electronic.
5. Experience teaching international students and digital learning platforms.
