Job Description
Competition & Antitrust Associate US Firm London
The Opportunity
A standout opportunity has emerged to join a dynamic and fast-growing Competition practice within a leading international law firm’s London office. Established relatively recently, the team has already gained significant traction in the market, bolstered by a series of high-profile partner arrivals and an impressive pipeline of complex, cross-border mandates.
This role represents a key strategic hire as the team continues to scale. It is particularly well-suited to mid–senior level associates seeking exposure to cutting-edge antitrust matters within a collaborative, high-performing environment.
The Practice
The broader Antitrust group is widely recognised for its ability to advise on the full spectrum of global competition law issues. The team’s work spans merger control, foreign investment review, behavioural investigations, litigation, and compliance across major jurisdictions including the US, UK, EU, and beyond.
What sets this practice apart is its genuinely integrated approach. Lawyers work seamlessly across disciplines, combining transactional advisory with contentious expertise. The group regularly handles high-stakes matters involving significant financial exposure, reputational sensitivity, and complex multi-jurisdictional coordination.
With a strong bench that includes former regulators, seasoned litigators, and experienced deal lawyers, the team is particularly well-equipped to navigate sophisticated regulatory landscapes and deliver strategic, commercially focused advice to clients. The London team works closely with colleagues across key international offices, ensuring exposure to global matters and cross-border collaboration on a daily basis.
The Role
* Advise clients on a broad range of competition law matters, including merger control, foreign direct investment (FDI), and antitrust investigations
* Support on complex, multi-jurisdictional M&A and private equity transactions
* Engage with regulatory authorities and gain exposure to EU and UK competition frameworks
* Contribute across advisory, contentious, and compliance-driven workstreams
* Work closely with senior stakeholders within a growing and ambitious team
Candidate Profile
* England & Wales qualified (or equivalent) with 4–6 years’ post-qualification experience
* Strong grounding in competition / antitrust law gained at a leading firm
* Experience advising on EU merger control and broader regulatory regimes
* A commercially minded approach with the ability to navigate complex legal and strategic issues
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with an interest in contributing to a growing practice
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious associate to play a meaningful role in the continued growth of a high-calibre team, offering exposure to premium work, close partner interaction, and a genuinely international platform for career development.
