Permanent / 30 hours per week - to be worked over at least 4 days per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated paediatric Radiology Department.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality, responsive diagnostic service to children in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.

You must have excellent communication and organisation skills, commitment to CPD and a growing knowledge of Radiation Protection legislation and health and safety requirements to ensure patients receive the best possible quality care. We have many opportunities for CPD, including research, audits and specialist training and we are committed to supporting and encouraging our staff and promote quality within our department.

Main duties of the job

To participate in the provision of a high quality specialised paediatric diagnostic imaging service to the Sheffield Children's Hospital.

To provide specific skilled support to the Radiographers and Radiologists by assisting in the person-centred care and support of children and young people referred to the service.

To work independently under the supervision of a Radiographer - supporting the clinical and operational delivery of our patient service; preparation of examination rooms; interacting with, and preparing the patient prior to certain examinations; intravenous cannulation and assisting the radiologist and radiographer in all required areas.

To participate in a patient centred approach to delivery of care with emphasis on patient experience.
