The Role
Within the Broughton Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET), we are looking to recruit a Build Support Engineer supporting the Single Aisle (SA) and Widebody Wing Equipping (WB) Component Delivery Teams (CDTs). The successful applicants will be part of our fast-moving teams delivering high-quality Build Support to meet the needs of the plant.
The team's function is to provide reactive and proactive engineering support to the CDTs to ensure the achievement of their business objectives. The team also seeks to identify opportunities to optimise design and industrial systems in partnership with Manufacturing Engineering, promoting a true MEET (Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Together) ethos.
Tasks
1. Act as the link between Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring co-design solutions suitable for the industrial system while maintaining an engineering and customer perspective.
2. Support the design definition and communicate industrial requirements to the wider engineering community.
3. Provide proactive product improvements supporting modifications to reduce Recurring Costs, Non-Recurring Costs, and Non-Conformances throughout the SA & WB value stream.
4. Provide 'lineside' build support and act as the focal point for Engineering topics within the Wing Plant CDTs, including root cause analysis of abnormalities arising from design queries.
5. Support initiatives to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness through application of methods, tools, processes, and capability improvements (e.g., achievement of AOS goals, sustainability goals).
6. Be motivated and self-driven, capable of working autonomously when required, while being a strong team player.
7. Deliver reliably on time, within budget, and to quality standards, embracing change and challenge when appropriate.
8. Maintain an anticipation mindset to identify risks and opportunities and manage them appropriately.
9. Understand and synthesize multiple complex activities, simplify and communicate them clearly and timely to stakeholders.
