We are seeking a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD, SEMH within a specialist SEND school in the Melksham area. This school provides a structured, nurturing environment designed specifically to meet the needs of children with additional learning and communication needs.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide consistent, individualised support throughout the school day. You will work closely with class staff and the wider SEN team to deliver tailored strategies that support emotional regulation, engagement in learning, and positive daily routines.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and understands the importance of relationship-based support in SEND settings.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
1. Have experience supporting children with ASC, ADHD, or other SEND profiles
2. Be calm, patient, and consistent, with a child-centred approach
3. Be confident using visual supports, structured routines, and sensory-based strategies
4. Understand emotional regulation, clear boundaries, and positive behaviour support
5. Work collaboratively with teachers and specialist SEN staff
Role Requirements:
6. Full-time, term-time availability (Monday to Friday, school hours)
7. Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within a SEND or specialist setting
8. A good understanding of autism, ADHD, and SEND best practice
9. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
10. Right to work in the UK
