Pay Rate: £14.12 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
* Basic rate: £12.60
* Holiday pay: £1.52 (12.07% uplift)

About The Role
As a Kitchen Assistant at Brookhaven, you’ll work closely with our Head Chef to maintain high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and safety. You’ll also support service users involved in kitchen-based recovery activities through our Therapeutic Earnings Programme. Key duties include:
* Assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment
* Cleaning and storing equipment, utensils, and surfaces in line with hygiene standards
* Clearing and cleaning dining areas before and after meals, and emptying waste bins
* Ensuring food stock, crockery, and cutlery are available and stored correctly
* Supporting service users in therapeutic kitchen roles and contributing to ongoing improvements and inspections

Brookhaven is a 23-bed, mixed-gender open rehabilitation service in Bamber Bridge, supporting adults aged 18+ with enduring mental health needs. The service provides structured routines and meaningful community connections through leisure, education, and vocational opportunities.

Requirements
* Previous experience working in a similar kitchen or catering environment
* Understanding of safe food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and cleaning practices
* Awareness of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), infection control, and Health & Safety regulations
* Willingness to support and supervise service users in a kitchen setting as part of their recovery
