Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. Duties
* Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine project requirements.
* Install new roofs using appropriate materials such as tiles, shingles, or metal sheets, ensuring durability and weather resistance.
* Repair or replace damaged roofing components, including flashing and membranes.
* Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
* Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment to facilitate installation or repairs.
* Utilise carpentry skills for framing or structural modifications as needed.
* Conduct waterproofing tasks, including sealing joints and flashing to prevent leaks.
* Assist with masonry or plumbing tasks related to roofing systems when required.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
* Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, or maintenance is essential.
* Knowledge of construction principles, schematics interpretation, and fabrication techniques is highly desirable.
* Hands-on experience with welding, masonry, plumbing, or carpentry will be considered an advantage.
* Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as scaffolding or lifts is required.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights comfortably is necessary.
* Previous experience in working with various roofing materials and systems will be beneficial.
