My client, a high‑performing and globally recognised boutique alternative investments firm, is seeking their first-ever Vice President of Talent Development & Leadership. This is a rare and career-defining opportunity to build, shape, and own a world-class talent development strategy for an organisation that has grown organically, outperformed its peers, and is now poised for its next phase of global expansion.
With approximately 400 employees worldwide and offices across the globe, my client is entering a pivotal moment: scaling rapidly, attracting exceptional investment professionals, and evolving the leadership capability required to match the firm’s momentum.
This role sits at the heart of that evolution.
The Opportunity
My client is hiring an experienced, strategic, and commercially minded Talent Development leader who can design, build, and execute a holistic suite of talent, leadership, and development programmes for the C‑suite and the level below. This includes:
* Crafting the firm’s global talent development strategy from the ground up.
* Designing career pathways, succession planning frameworks, and accelerated development routes for top talent.
* Building and embedding leadership development programmes, working closely with senior leaders and investment professionals.
* Implementing development planning frameworks (currently manager‑led) and elevating them into a cohesive, global approach.
* Leveraging and managing high‑quality external partners, ensuring world‑class delivery while keeping the internal team lean and strategic.
* Enabling leaders through train-the-trainer design, rather than delivering heavy workshop loads personally.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives with autonomy, has a strong point of view on what “excellent” looks like, and wants the freedom to architect and own an entire talent ecosystem.
Essential Experience
* 10+ years in Talent, Leadership Development, or a related discipline.
* Must come from a boutique alternative investments environment (hedge funds, private equity, alternatives asset managers, or similar).
* Proven track record designing and implementing talent development strategies for senior leadership and investment professionals.
* Demonstrated experience working directly with C‑suite executives on capability building, development planning, and succession.
* Strong tenure and stability in previous roles, showing maturity and depth of work.
* Experience operating in a global environment and working across multiple time zones.
