Based on 37 - 39 hours per week. 8am - Monday – Friday.
£ per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
Overview of the position
As supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit a cleaner for Swaleside Prison, Sheppey Kent. This is a Long-term Temporary Contract, which will lead to the opportunity to apply for the permanent post, with a rate of £ per hour inclusive of Holiday pay.
Based on 37 - 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8am – The cleaner role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally. You must be local to the prison or have your own transport.
Purpose of the Cleaner role
As part of the Facilities & Waste Disposal team you will be responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness of non-prisoner areas, but there could be occasions that you see prisoners during the day. Kent Prisons have an excellent reputation as busy local prisons, which serve all the courts in the South East. Previous cleaning experience is essential for this role.
The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potentialpromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in cleaning, and will be assessed based on the followingpetencies: Acting with integrity, respecting others, building relationships and team working,municating effectively, developing self and others.Security Clearance required:
All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure, which can take up to 4 weeks. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.
