Overview
Fixed‑term, full (40 hours per week) post based in both the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Western General Hospital. The role offers 9 months in gastroenterology and hepatology training at registrar level, with opportunities for inpatient and outpatient care, specialist clinics and endoscopy training appropriate to the stage of training (including ERCP and/or EUS if required).
Responsibilities
* Provide inpatient and outpatient care in gastroenterology and hepatology services.
* Attend specialist clinics and participate in endoscopy training.
* Contribute to training programme and support junior trainees.
* Committed to an on‑call rota of 1 in 10 at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and 1 in 5 for evening and weekend cover at Western General Hospital.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Completion of both written parts of the MRCP examination.
* Minimum 6 months NHS work experience, with a gastroenterology role within the last year.
* Right to work in the United Kingdom or eligibility for sponsorship.
* Required to have a UK Visa or other lawful work permission.
* Applicant must acknowledge that the role is not formally recognized for training and does not have educational approval.
