Rate of Pay: £13.47 - £17.82 per hour
Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Street Works Technician to join a friendly highways team supporting the coordination of streetworks and highway activities across Somerset. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career within highways, traffic management, or public services, with full training provided.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with assessing Streetworks permits and network coordination activities
* Provide basic technical support and advice with guidance from senior colleagues
* Use digital systems, mapping tools, and databases to manage information
* Respond to emails and support day-to-day administrative tasks
* Prepare maps, reports, plans, and tables
* Carry out accuracy checks and maintain records
Essential Requirements:
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities
* Confident using ICT systems and Microsoft Office packages
* Willingness to learn new systems and processes
* Positive and enthusiastic approach to work
* Full UK driving licence
