Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Wednesday to Friday - Community College are seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our support staff team. Our administrative team is a dynamic and supportive group, playing a vital role in the smooth daily operation of the school.
About the role
As the first point of contact for parents, staff, and students, they handle a wide variety of day-to-day matters, from forgotten PE kits to misplaced bus passes, always responding with professionalism, kindness, and efficiency. The role is fast paced, with a consistently busy environment and frequent phone enquiries, so flexibility and a proactive mindset are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing a professional and welcoming reception service for visitors and callers
2. Managing incoming calls, emails and visitor sign in procedures
3. Supporting administrative tasks including parent communications, data input and record keeping
4. Assisting with attendance and student information systems
5. Liaising with staff, parents/carers and external organisations
6. Maintaining an organised, presentable reception area
7. Acting as a designated First Aider (training provided)
8. Upholding safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality requirements at all times
About you
We are looking for someone who:
9. Has strong literacy and numeracy skills (minimum Level 2 or equivalent)
10. Is confident using ICT, including Microsoft 365
11. Is well organised, able to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure
12. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
13. Can relate positively to young people, staff and visitors
14. Works proactively, flexibly and as part of a team
15. Is committed to safeguarding, equality and professional standards
Experience working in an administrative or customer facing role is essential. Experience in a school environment would be desirable (training will be provided if required).
