The Accessible Transport Service is recruiting for the role of Independent Travel Trainer. This is a rewarding, varied role that involves planning bespoke training for young people with additional needs to help and support them in their journey to becoming independent travellers.
Responsibilities include assessing travel routes, carrying out person specific risk assessments, managing and monitoring training progress for each young person and supporting them on a 1-1 basis.
Previous experience in transport is not required; if you have experience in supporting people with special educational needs, physical disabilities or in mentoring young people then this could be the role for you.
If you have any queries about the role, please contact Alison Wesson, Compliance & Training Officer for an informal chat, at alison.wesson@lancashire.gov.uk.
Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role. The panel may be unable to shortlist you for interview without this evidence.
The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'.
