This position is based at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK's largest healthcare systems, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. The shift pattern is from 8:30 to 16:30. We are seeking a motivated and innovative individual to join our medium secure team in the forensic Occupational Therapy Department, which operates across medium & low security settings and in the forensic community mental health team. The department emphasizes engagement in meaningful activities to promote health, reduce symptoms, and manage risks and offending behaviors.
Under supervision from a registered Occupational Therapist, the post holder will:
1. Assist in delivering client-centered therapeutic activities for individuals and groups experiencing mental health difficulties and offending behaviors, including supervision and direct work in secure wards, community settings, or clients' homes.
2. Facilitate planned group and individual activities, adapting interventions based on client needs.
3. Understand risk assessment and management within a secure environment, including Occupational Therapy's role in these processes.
4. Maintain good verbal and written communication skills.
