Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage all engineering activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring alignment with operational goals and cost-efficiency targets.
2. Drive plant performance by reducing equipment downtime and improving process efficiency through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
3. Recruit, develop, and manage a skilled engineering team to support both current production needs and future business growth.
4. Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure high equipment reliability and minimal disruption to manufacturing schedules.
5. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and hygiene standards, particularly in regulated or food-grade manufacturing environments.
6. Plan and manage engineering budgets, including both revenue and capital expenditure, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and equipment investments.
7. Develop and implement a streamlined spare parts inventory policy to reduce costs while maintaining operational readiness.
8. Lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption and optimize energy use, including evaluating and specifying energy-efficient equipment and technologies.
9. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, HSE, and Supply Chain teams to support overall plant performance and strategic goals.
10. Take a proactive role in capital projects from concept through implementation, ensuring new equipment and systems meet cost, performance, and compliance requirements.
11. Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to respond to critical engineering or production issues as needed.
12. Carry out additional responsibilities and tasks in line with the needs of the engineering function and overall business strategy.
Qualifications
13. Previous experience of managing a department
14. Good working knowledge of compliance and legislation
15. Previous experience in Manufacturing environment
