Summary: The objective of the EC Young Learners recruitment team is to source, select, secure, and develop the very best people for our young learner programmes, ensuring welfare and safeguarding policies are adhered to at all times and to position Embassy Summer as the preferred employer of choice for temporary summer school staff. The Recruitment Officer works as part of a team primarily responsible for ensuring our UK locations and programmes are adequately staffed and resourced in line with our British Council accreditation scheme and our internal recruitment targets, and that there is a focus on safer recruiting to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our young learner students. Key Responsibilities: Work as part of a team to ensure all summer centre locations are fully staffed, meeting operational requirements and adhering to the British Council accreditation scheme. Recruit staff in line with British Council accreditation guidelines, promoting safer recruitment practices to safeguard the wellbeing of young learners. Assess applications against role criteria to create a shortlist of qualified candidates. Conduct structured interviews to evaluate suitability, ensuring all recruitment decisions align with safeguarding policies and best practices. Follow robust recruitment and selection procedures, focusing on safer recruiting to protect the welfare of students while hiring the best candidates for temporary summer roles. Coordinate onboarding and maintain administrative processes for new hires, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment and company policies. Use recruitment software and tools to streamline shortlisting, interview scheduling, and tracking candidate progress. Assist with staff enquiries and deliver ongoing HR support during the summer operational period, ensuring employees feel valued and informed. Knowledge/Skills Required: Educated to A Level / High School level or above. Excellent communication skills; must be fluent in both written and spoken English. Ability to manage own workload and work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Computer literate with practical knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Knowledge/Skills Desired: Experience of working in summer schools or an EFL environment. Experience of working in HR / Recruitment & Selection (educational industry preferred). An understanding of welfare and safeguarding good practice guidelines. An understanding of safer recruitment good practice guideline. Database management experience.
