Are you passionate about improving transport services and making a positive impact on your local community? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Transport Officer to join our Transport and Countryside Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality transport services and supporting the effective management of transport initiatives within West Berkshire.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Processing and assessing applications for transport services, including school transport and specialist transport
* Providing advice and information to service users regarding transport options
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of transport services
* Assisting with the collection and analysis of data related to transport usage and demand
* Supporting the Senior Engineer in the implementation of transport projects and initiatives
Qualifications
* Knowledge and understanding of transport issues and challenges
* Experience in processing applications and providing advice on transport services
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
* Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
* Data collection and analysis skills
* Proactive and solution-focused approach to problem‑solving
