Client:
Our client is an award-winning Main Contractor that specialise in high end hotel and residential fitout projects. They work collaboratively with their clients to ensure efficient project delivery and minimum disruptions to operations.

The Role:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing analytical cost estimates and tenders from initial enquiry through to tender submission whilst ensuring the priced tenders are accurate, competitive and submitted by required deadlines. Travel may occasionally be required as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
15. Examine tender documents
16. Research materials, equipment and labour costs
17. Collate quotations from material suppliers and sub-contractors
18. Liaise with Commercial Director to agree project overhead costs, advise on tendering opportunities and all tender results/placings
19. Prepare analytical estimate for designated projects
20. Consider potential value engineering options
21. Plan project timescales and assess the level of risk on a project
22. Liaise and assist with the appointment of subcontractors and labour only subcontractors on designated subcontract conditions
23. Record tender performances and keep these up to date
24. Liaise and assist with managing cost feedback information for future tendering
25. Attend relevant meetings / site visits
26. Prepare tender settlement documents for project deadlines / finalisation for pre-settlement with the Operations Director
27. Manage and oversee the archiving of all documents
28. Ensure records and paperwork are accurate and up to date
29. Adopt a Continuous Improvement approach to processes and practices
The Ideal Person:
30. Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications
31. Relevant experience within the fit out / refurbishment sectors
32. Experience of writing PQQ, Bid and Tender submissions
33. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
34. Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft Office, Excel and Estimating package
35. Strong Commercial Awareness
36. Experience in managing and dealing with contractual issues on standard forms of contract i.e. JCT form of Contract
37. Strong knowledge of contract documents, construction practices and techniques
38. High attention to detail
39. Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team environment
