About the Role
We’re expanding our Ecology team in Bristol and seeking a Senior Ecology Consultant to lead ecological consultancy work on various projects. You will undertake ecological surveys, prepare reports, advise clients on ecological matters, and develop Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Biodiversity Net Gain, and BREEAM assessments. The role offers mentoring opportunities and professional development within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead ecological surveys and provide technical advice on projects including property development and infrastructure.
* Review ecological reports such as PEA, EcIA, BREEAM, and Biodiversity Net Gain.
* Contribute to fee proposals and client reports.
* Collaborate with regional teams for seamless project delivery.
* Mentor junior team members and support their growth.
* Stay updated on ecological legislation and policies, providing pragmatic advice.
* Contribute to EIA processes and EcIA development.
* Manage client relationships ensuring high-quality service.
* Undertake desk-based studies and technical reviews.
What We’re Looking For
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
* Experience in ecological consultancy, including managing surveys and reports.
* Full Membership of CIEEM and/or Chartered Ecologist status.
* Experience with protected species surveys and licensing.
* Strong report writing skills and knowledge of ecological legislation.
* Experience with linear infrastructure and property projects is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
* Leadership and mentorship experience preferred.
* Public enquiry experience is a plus.
