Job Description:
At Ouster, we build sensors and tools for engineers, roboticists, and researchers, enabling safer and more efficient solutions.
We have transformed LIDAR technology from an analog device with thousands of components to a compact digital device powered by a chip-scale laser array and CMOS sensor.
Our high-resolution LIDAR sensors provide superior imaging at lower costs, used in autonomous vehicles, drones, and other applications.
We are seeking a Digital IC Design Engineer to design and develop next-generation, commercial-grade LiDAR systems.
The ideal candidate should have a background in digital circuit specification, design, and verification for ASIC / Mixed-Signal SoCs.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a start-up environment with varied responsibilities and the chance to impact cutting-edge imaging systems.
The successful candidate will join our team at the Design Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Responsibilities:
* Define digital architecture and block specifications
* Write specifications and RTL design & verification (SystemVerilog/VHDL)
* Collaborate with analog IC designers and subcontractors
* Experience with synthesis, timing closure, and STA preferred
* Support DfT strategies and implementation
* Debug RTL and gate-level simulations
* Scripting (Python, Perl, etc.)
* Work with firmware, hardware, and software teams
* Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations
* FPGA prototyping experience is desirable
* Experience with P&R and MATLAB modeling is a bonus
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
