Clinical Manager (Interim – Immediate Start)
Day Rate: £300–£400 (Interim)
Potential Permanent Salary: £47,000–£52,000
Location: Exeter, Devon
Contract: 3-Month Interim (with strong view to permanent)
Hours: Full-time
Essential: RGN Qualified, Skilled in Re-catheterisation & Phlebotomy
About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced, confident, and highly skilled Clinical Manager to join a well-regarded 68-bed nursing service on an interim basis, with the intention of moving into a permanent role.
Following a restructure, the service is consolidating two Clinical Lead posts into one new, strengthened Clinical Manager position. You will work directly with the Home Director and deputise clinically, leading all clinical operations and stabilising a team that has been through transition.
This role requires someone who can hit the ground running, bring calm, direction, and clinical excellence, and support a team and resident group who need a strong and reassuring leader.
The Home
* 68-bed nursing service, purpose-built (10–11 years old)
* 3 nursing floors including high-complexity dementia
* Mix of nursing and some residential care
* High-end nursing environment with gold-standard accreditation
* CQC rated Good overall, with Outstanding in Effective and Responsive
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and manage all clinical operations across the home
* Provide hands-on clinical support, including re-catheterisation and bloods
* Conduct a deep dive into medications, care plans, clinical routines
* Support and mentor nurses; oversee supervisions and clinical development
* Strengthen clinical governance, compliance and quality assurance
* Drive improvement in a turnaround environment.
* Work closely with the Home Director
* Offer stability, coaching and a supportive presence to the team
About You
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) – ESSENTIAL
* Strong clinical skills including catheterisation and phlebotomy
* Previous experience as Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager, or Clinical Manager
* Proven experience in turnaround or strengthening clinical standards
* Confident leading complex dementia and high-acuity nursing care
* Able to mentor, coach and bring a team together
* Calm, resilient and supportive-someone who can steady the ship
* Available to start ASAP
